Return Crew List for the Tahiti Race
This is a listing of people intererested in the up hill ride back to the West Coast. While not interested in racing they are interested in sailing. If you need such folks please drop them a line. I have cleard the page of old entries from the 2001 race. If you have posted information in the last six months you will need to post again. Sorry, but we are getting ready for the 2003 event. As with the other two list these are in the order they were submitted using the HTML Form.

Please email us at the WEB address ( Transpac WEB Folks) if you found a ride, found crew or just want your positing removed. It will help keep the page current.

Because of issues with Span Bots we no longer automatically post crew list requests. When you fill out the form it is emailed to us and we enter that information on these pages if it is a valid posting. This is normally done within twenty four hours.

We have activated these lists for the 2008 Tahiti Race. The list for the 2009 Honolulu Race will be available in August 2008.

5'11, 200 pounds. 10 years beach lifeguard, 10 years paramedic. 6 years corporate tool (save me!). Sailing courses in the 70s,grew up in a sabot. Currently crewing on a beneteau first 40.7 in San Diego, own a Hans Christian in Oceanside, which I am halfway through rebuilding system by system. I haven't gotten seasick yet, can cook clean fix the head change the diesel filters (for after the finish line when the tank has been well shaken)splice whip sew steer pull the line in or let it out without complaining. I play well with others, and can shut up or be plesantly conversant as required by the mood of the group. At home with macho men, women or intellectuals. I'm generally uppbeat, don't panic, don't get sulky if I need to be yelled at. I can also make a decision, and be responsible for the result.

I'm looking for pasagemaking miles to build my skill set, I want to learn how to do this for myself.

Aloha,

I moved to Hawaii in 2002 from Long Beach, CA.

When I got here I started working at a dive shop on the north shore of Oahu. I got certified right away and worked my way up to divemaster. We often took a boat in order to get to different dive sights. That is when I started to get especially intrested in boats. So I got a job on a 25 foot shark adventure boat. Shortly after that I realized that I just wanted to sail. So I started to work on a 49 foot catamaran doing whale watching and snorkel tours. After doing that for a while I went ahead and got my captains licence with sailing endorsement. Now what I truly want is to gain as much experience as possible so that one day I can confidently sail around the world. I am looking to be crew on a sailing yacht. I may not be the most knowledgeable deckhand, but I am a very hard worker with ambition, dedication and commonsence. I really want to be the to become the best captain I know I can be. So then one day I will have a crew of my own. Also just to let you know I am quite usefull in the galley.
