PLYWOOD CUP

CHALLENGE

Friday, July 29, 2005

United Cerebral Palsy Association (UCPA) of Hawaii and the Transpac Yacht Club are offering the ultimate challenge for the racing enthusiast. The challenge is to design, build and race a boat of your own against the clock and your fellow participants and all for the benefit for the local programs of United Cerebral Palsy.

The event is organized into teams and each team is supplied the same materials and tools. Each team is allowed ten (10) members and the construction time from start to finish is just two hours. Race planning and tactics are allowed one hour and the race follows immediately on a triangle course.

The race has been held for the last fourteen years and the design technology improves each year. The number of boats that actually float has increased greatly and the percentage of finishers is truly impressive. Photo opportunities abound.

Entrants can participate by either sponsoring a team or forming their own crew to challenge the other entries. Space is limited to twenty (20) teams and all entry fees are tax deductible. Entry forms and race instructions are available in PDF format.
