Roy Disney says his farewell after 15 Transpacs over 30 years. Al Garnier, Transpac's next commodore, presents Wendy Siegal with a special award for her role in reviving the 40-year-old Cal 40 class, which had 14 boats this year.
Bernardo Guzman, 11, of the Mexican entry Jeito, became one of the youngest crew members in Transpac history at age 11 and 10 1/2 months. Grant Baldwin, the radio "voice of Transpac" from the communications vessel for 20 races since 1979, said he has done his last race.
Pier operations director Ivan Chan Wa was honored as the Honolulu Committee's top volunteer for Transpac 2005. Part of the Morning Glory crew accepts the Barn Door trophy for fastest elapsed time. Boat captain Peter Pendleton, kneeling at left, also won the Don Vaughn award as outstanding crew member.
