Offshore Passage Opportunities is a free crew networking service offered to boat owners and skippers that are looking for crew to help return their boats after the race. Established in 1993, our membership has grown to over 1200 members. To find crew simply call our 1-8004-PASSAGe (800-472-7724) number (or e-mail us offshorepassage@sprintmail.com). Our membership is made up of many qualified sailors who simply do not own an ocean going boat and want to go sailing. They do not expect to get paid and many will even pay their own transportation to and from the boat with onboard expenses covered. Of course to get the best crew you may want to offer some travel expenses, but we leave that totally up to you.

The service is free to boat owners and skippers looking for crew. When you call we will get all the information about your boat, contact information and the dates you would like your crew to arrive. We will then send an e-mail out to our membership and they will contact you directly to make arrangements. If you get several calls we encourage you to contact us and we will let you know if we have sailed with them before or know more about them. All our members fill out crew surveys and we have information about them on file. However you will of course want to interview them over the phone and can ask for more or updated information.

We have had a web site www.sailopo.com since Jan of 1997 and the April 2003 Issue of Cruising World Magazine has a cover story about our passage south last fall to the Caribbean where 40 OPO members helped sail a fleet of Swans from Newport to St. Martin. We look forward to helping you find qualified crew to help sail your boats back home after the race.
