Roy Disney's Pyewacket leads Philippe Kahn's Pegasus 77 (left) away
from the Golden Gate at start of the Coastal Cup to Santa Catalina Island,
but Pegasus 77 soon caught up and ran away to a record time of 26 hours 24
minutes 55 seconds for the 360-nautical mile race. Pyewacket dropped out 25
miles from the finish as the wind went light.
