2001 Transpacific Yacht Race Official Notice and Conditions of Race
Second Addendum, Amendments to the Transpac Notice of Race appear in Bold. The Notice of Race, which was first issued in November 2000, and Notice of Race Amendents, posted 7 May, 2001 are attached. 1.0 CLASSES TO RACE 1.2 Aloha Class. (Amended) This class is open to cruising-type yachts with a Southern California PHRF Offwind Course rating (OWC) between 144 and -90 and a ULDB factor of less than 2.0. Aloha class yachts may use power winches (this modifies RRS 52.) Such use must be declared in writing at the time of entry. Aloha class yachts using power winches may compete for Aloha class trophies but are not eligible for overall trophies. 2.0 RULES (amended) 2.6 (amended ) Movement of sails not in use is allowed; however all sails and gear not being flown must remain within a yacht's lifelines. 2.8 (addition) The forestay of a yacht may be temporarily removed for the purpose of jibing and must be reattached at the first opportunity after the jibe is completed. 13.0 SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS 13.6 (addition)A storm trysail as described in the ORC regulations, section 4.24 Category 1 is required regardless of mainsail reefing capabilities. An additional storm sail trysail track is not required if adequate means of attaching the storm trysail to the mast are provided. Transpac 2001   34.0 DAILY ROLL CALL 34.3 (amended) Evening roll call will commence at 1815 PDT (0115 Z). Give your 1800 PDT (0100 Z) position. The Communications Vessel will be standing by for early check-ins at 1800 PDT (0100Z).
